Art books – Letters unleashed

Dive into an inspirational weekend journey where art books and letters become your artistic playground, not just as text, but as vibrant, dynamic elements in mixed media art. This workshop is all about liberating letters from their traditional constraints and exploring their incredible potential as pure artistic expression.

We’ll venture far beyond conventional writing, investigating how text can become a powerful visual component in your creative projects. Imagine letters as textural elements, visual rhythms and emotional landscapes that add depth, intrigue and unexpected layers to your artwork. Whether you’re working with collage, painting, photography, or experimental mixed media, we’ll explore how writing can be integrated as a compelling artistic tool.

The sessions will be a hands-on exploration of techniques from creating art books, layering and obscuring text to using letters as structural elements in your compositions. We’ll experiment with different mediums, learn how to play with legibility and most importantly, develop your unique approach to integrating text in your art.

No prior writing or art experience is required – just bring your curiosity and willingness to experiment. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a creative novice, you’ll find new ways to see and use letters in your work.

The workshop takes place on Saturday and Sunday 13th/14th June 10.00 – 13.00. The course fee is 280 Euro incl. VAT and payable on subscription.
