This workshop will be the key to creating expressive paintings, flowers and bringing out the gem within you. Flowers make us happy. If a picture paints a thousand words, the sight of a flower speaks a million. The art of painting flowers is not just to depict their colors and shapes but also to give them the liveliness that can only be felt and created by you.

You’ll start with a compositional drawing with pencil. Afterwards you will build your color palette, learning to combine and reach the right tones that will enable you to reflect the colors you see or imagine. This will be the strong foundation of working with oil paint, bringing depth to your paintings. Working on canvas; using brushes and experimenting with palette knives, reveal the possibilities of expressive mark making on your canvas’. 

This course is a perfect starting point to build your confidence working with oil paints and develop an expressional approach to painting, especially flowers. With its structured and practical approach, it is ideal for anyone looking for a better understanding of composition, color and the physical properties of oil paint and is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with a little more experience, with deliberate focus on flowers .

Flower paintings are simply beautiful, capturing nature. Flower paintings can stand alone as art, or they can decorate your home in ways big and small.This five day workshop will establish the practical approach you need to feel confident working independently with oil paint, and bring the gems within you out and whether you choose to hang them on the wall or place them as decoration on your bookshelf, flower paintings will be a beautiful addition to your lives…

The course will take place everyday, Monday to Friday during the Carnival holidays, from 10.00 – 12.00h starting on 13th February. The materials are provided during the course and you will receive a supply list in case you want to buy your own additional materials. The fee for the 10h workshop and all materials is 460 Euro incl. VAT and payable on subscription.

This class will be taught by Burcu Uzun: “I am an artist specialized in oil painting, who’s passion is in the colours of life. In middle school, I began to study oil painting with my art teacher. I studied Chemical Engineering at Aegean University and at the same time continued to pursue my passion in painting and studied further art classes with various artists at the Art Academy.
I summarised my journey in oil paintings and in colours: As long as I can remember, colours have been my dreams of hope, love and joy. I cherish all forms of arts, which give meaning to my life! For many years, I have run workshops and have passed on the passion for painting to many people. I look forward to meeting you.”
