“Letters in Art” – mixed media workshop
Join me in this inspirational and fun workshop in which we explore the impact of letters in art.
Since mankind invented scripture and fonts, writing was always both a pragmatic approach to archive and transfer information and the artistic expression of the writers. Writers were highly reputable people, powerful and full of influence. Writing was always skill and art at the same time.
With my “Letters in Art” workshop we will approach playfully all routes and aspects this subject may offer, from art historic inspirations, to automatic writing, collaging, painting, drawing and transfer techniques. Since the written word can literally impact on the message of a painting, as just visual elements may evoke a story in the viewers head, we will us letters and writings as an inspiration, subject and object for our creative work. During this 5 weeks art class, writing in all its forms will be the starting point for our creations.
The subject allows a wide range of interpretations and is also a great meeting point for writers and writing artists too, that would like to bring their written words to another medium.
The classes are taking place at my atelier at Belair on Wednesday evenings from 19.00-21.00 or on Thursday mornings from 10.00-12.00 and are open for everybody from the enthusiastic beginner to the more advanced painter or writer. The workshops start on the 9th/10th November and go through 7th/8th December.
